On Saturday, August 4th in conjunction with our Wildlfe Exhibit, as a collaboration of Bluewood Gallery and The Transylvania County Arts Center, Bill Lea and Hal Looney will be giving a presentation at the Arts Center. A reception will be held at 6pm, with a slide show beginning at 7pm.

In conjunction with our Macro Photography Workshop on April 28-29, we will be featuring an exhibit of close-up photography April 18th through May 26th.

February 2012 Anniversary Celebration

The gallery will be closed in January, as well as the first three weeks of February. We will reopen on February 21st, and on February 24th, we will celebrate the 7th anniversary with a gala reception from 5 to 7pm.

jon o. holloway teaches photography at Lander College in Greenwood, SC, and owns Sundance Gallery in the heart of historic Greenwood, SC. Sundance has played a major role in the revitalization of Greenwood’s downtown under his leadership.

From his base in Greenwood, jon’s professional career has allowed him to travel the globe, creating photographic exhibits on India, South Africa and Cuba, as well as those entitled “Gates of the Arctic”, “500 Years; Native America”, “Spirit”, “Solitude”, and “Nature’s Rhythm.”

His work has been nationally and internationally exhibited and collected by private and corporate clients, museums and galleries. Some of his publications include National Geographic; America 24/7; South Carolina 24/7; Daybreak 2000; Bronze, Silver, Gold; The Palmetto Portrait Project, and a wide variety of national ad campaigns. He currently collaborates with Ben Greer Keys and several others on the multi-year Reedy River Project.

Ben Geer Keys

Ben Geer Keys, a native of Greenville, SC, resides part-time in Cedar Mountain, NC where he works as a noted nature photographer. Ben is known best for his striking images of wildflowers, waterfalls and mountain vistas.

Ben is now retired from Keys Printing Company in Greenville, SC and is married to Martha Hardeman Keys, with whom he has four sons.

An avid outdoorsman, Ben also spends some of his volunteer time with groups such as Friends of the Reedy River, Muddy Sneakers, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Warren Wilson Environmental Leadership Center, The SC Conservation Bank Board and the Lake Connestee Foundation.

Ben is currently collaborating on a joint project on the Reedy River with jon o. holloway, Tom Blagden and others.

Sue Hershey

Sue has been a photographer for over 30 years. After studying photography at New York City’s School of Visual Arts, she worked commercially in advertising, but really enjoys the fine art side of the medium.
She has had her work shown in galleries in Texas and North Carolina, and has won photography awards at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, the Dallas Center for Contemporary Arts, and the One Show in Forth Worth, Texas before moving to Brevard, NC.
Sue is a co-founder of Bluewood Gallery in Brevard, NC.
